| ACT
has its foundations tied to one of the most
complicated businesses to automate. Integrated
infrastructure systems are among the most
difficult to create, install and support.
ACT mastered this environment before expanding
into any other areas of system design and
development. Our success also consists of
ACT authoring many industry specific articles.
ACT's
products and services have been recognized
by IBM & Informix as an Apparel
Industry long term success story.
ACT's
operating environment has been recognized
as providing one of the
best maintenence-free business computing
solutions.
The Business
Management System
allows you to manage all aspects of the
front office (EDI and Order Entry) to the
material planning stages (MRP and Purchasing)
to Work In Process (Production Scheduling
and Contractor Control) through the warehouse
and shipping (Inventory Control, Shipping
and EDI). Accounting modules also exist.

Applications for All Your Needs
ACT can meet
the entire range of manufacturing, import
and distribution application needs whether
you produce simple item or more complex
products. Designed to handle a combination
of domestic, offshore, contract and full
import operations, each program has many
options that can be turned on to address
your company's specific needs as business
requirements change or grow.
Data will seamlessly flow through EDI and
Order Entry to Inventory Control and Production
Scheduling. From there you can make important
purchasing decisions for finished goods,
fabric or trim. Upon receipt of your work
in process, you will be able to watch this
information move to the completion of customer
orders through picking tickets, bar code
scanning and printing, invoicing and EDI.
Technologically Advanced
The foundation
for ACT's applications is the Unix operating
system, widely known for its use in business
environments. Favored platforms are HP/UX,
IBM AIX and SCO Open Server. The actual
programs are written in "C"—the natural
choice for Unix since the operating system
was written in "C".
Behind the actual program is the database,
which manages how information is stored
and retrieved. ACT uses the Informix Online
and SE Database Engines due to Informix's
longstanding commitment to the Unix marketplace.
In addition to the Informix Engine, we also
incorporate ESQL/C (Embedded SQL in C Source
Code) to access the full potential of "C"
with all the features of a 4GL.
Recently released was Fashion Café, a suite
of applications written in Java that provides
users a truly advanced, graphically oriented
application using any popular web browser.
By using JDBC, ACT is moving toward database
independence while still providing a data
warehouse environment.
One Look and Feel
All programs
are written in-house and are similarly formatted.
This makes the software extremely easy to
use and navigate for the end user—especially
important for reducing the training time
required for sophisticated and highly integrated
business applications. Your users will be
able to understand how to enter, retrieve
and analyze data in a method that is consistent
across various applications. . . making
your personnel as informed and productive
as possible.
Growth Potential Companies grow with ACT
business solutions, not out of them. Whether
you are a small company with only 4 users
or a larger organization with over 200 users,
there is a solution for you.
Smaller companies
can run the same powerful programs that
larger companies can by running the PC version
of Unix (SCO Open Server). SCO is among
the most powerful and safest systems to
run. SCO UNIX is among the platforms least
prone to hacker attacks and damages from
viruses and worms, according to a study
released by security firm mi2g. Click here

info.
Larger companies
can obtain the power they need by running
the software on mini-computers such as the
HP 9000 and IBM RS/6000.
Regardless
of your company’s size, the design of ACT’s
business systems enables our software consultants
and technicians to focus on distinct software
functions to improve your efficiency and
competitive edge.
Your
growing network can run many other application
environments such as Windows 98 workstations.
All that is required is linking your Unix
server to your network via TCP/IP with terminal
emulation software, and your company is
ready to be competitive with a powerful
application supporting your central mission. More
