ACT introduces the Fashion Café Customer Service Center (Version 1.0), a suite of products written in JAVA® and designed to permit simultaneous multiple window views of Order Inquiry, Cut & Sold Inquiry and Accounts Receivable Inquiry.

Fashion Café users can continue to use these ACT applications in their native Unix environment or run them in a user-friendly browser environment. They are entirely interchangeable.

Fashion Café users enjoy a number of benefits due to JAVA® cross-platform technology including:

  • Ease Of Use
  • Familiar Browser Interface (decreasing training time)
  • Database Independence (JDBC)
  • Increase In Efficiency with multiple windows
  • Hardware Independence

In the near future all of ACT’s native Unix applications will be ported to JAVA®, and at that time users will have the choice to use popular databases such as Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server or Informix.

To take advantage of the object-oriented technology provided by JAVA®, ACT will redesign most database structures. ACT’s Customer Service Center will be the only application available in the current database structure.

ACT has opted to use 100% pure JAVA® to ensure true cross-platform support.
