in their native Unix environment or run them in
a user-friendly browser environment. They are
entirely interchangeable.
Fashion
Café users enjoy a number of benefits due to JAVA®
cross-platform technology including:
- Ease Of Use
- Familiar Browser Interface (decreasing training time)
- Database Independence (JDBC)
- Increase In Efficiency with multiple windows
- Hardware Independence
In the near future all
of ACT’s native Unix applications will be ported
to JAVA®, and at that time users will have the
choice to use popular databases such as Oracle,
Sybase, MS SQL Server or Informix.
To take
advantage of the object-oriented technology provided
by JAVA®, ACT will redesign most database structures.
