ACT Distributed
Database technology allows a company
to run multiple sites and have data seamlessly
move between computer systems. This technology
is most advantageous when it is not feasible
to run dedicated phone lines. The Distributed
Database Module shines in the offshore 807/9802
factory.
Some of the module's highlights include:
*
The ability to handle an unlimited number
of sites
* Data access via the Internet
* Data access over local intranet
* Data access via Unix UUCP
* Automatic Master File Transfers
* Automatic Transaction File Transfers
* Queue monitoring
* Automated E-mail for data verification
* Automated new Program Version Installation
* Repopulation of all Master Files for a
new site
This
module uses database triggers to detect
when data changes on a database. These changes
are placed into queues for each remote system.
The queues are checked periodically by daemons
and if entries are found, the daemons send
that data to the remote site.
