ACT participates in Florida Workforce Development Program.
February 20, 2004. Pompano Beach, Florida: Accelerated Computer Technologies, Inc. (ACT), a Florida based software development company, announced its participation in the Florida Atlantic University (FAU), College of Engineering STEP (Students to Engineering Practice) Program. STEP is part of a national research project aimed at finding better ways to help talented student with financial need complete their undergraduate degrees in a timely fashion and move successfully into careers in business and industry.
The program is affiliated with FAU's InternetCoast Institute, an initiative focused on providing students with both scholastic and business education. One challenge is for students to be adequately prepared to enter the workforce upon graduation.
"ACT is honored to have been invited to help mentor the next graduating classes," said Brian Javeline, ACT EVP. He continued, "Unfortunately, many students are not adequately prepared in searching for a career position. It feels great to offer our next generation of students insight and leverage in resume writing and interviewing techniques to prepare them for their first positions after graduation."
